Where Retirees Should Travel
Some people like the idea of traveling while they're young and comfortable being poor and sleeping in hostels. Other people are more inclined to save their money and time up for their retirement and do it all then. Lots of older couples I know are now retiring. After having spent their lives thinking about where they'd like to travel to when they retire, the actual decision-making takes some special time now because the political and safety climate of so many places has changed in the last few decades.
So where is a safe place for the retired to vacation these days?
Florida
This may seem obvious, but the whole state of Florida is a great destination for retirees. Not only are there lots of retirees in Florida, but there are multiple cities and the weather is great.
Arizona
Arizona continues to grow as a popular retiree spot and having been to the state a few times myself, I have to admit that it is stunningly gorgeous.
What about the rest of the world?
My advice for retirees traveling the rest of the world is this:
Do your research. Keep up with the local news of the places you wish to visit. If you're short on money, investigate elderly hostels-they are out there. Live it up!
